Today’s tour starts at Tian’anmen Square, the landmark of Beijing, a symbol of
the new China. Proceed to the Imperial Palace (ForbiddenCity), the largest and
most complete complex of ancient architecture.After lunch, enjoy an afternoon
tour of the lavish Summer Palace. |

Beijing
|
Today’s highlight is a visit to the Great Wall, the longest and most ancient
structure ever built by man. After lunch, visit the Sacred Way and Ming Tomb,
which houses the tombs of 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty (1368 AD -1644 AD).
Evening: taste Peking Roast Duck Banquet and enjoy a cultural show. |

Beijing to Xining
|
Take morning flight to Xining – the capital city of Qinghai province. Positioned
at the edge of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau with an altitude of 2275 meters, it
serves as a stopover for the trip to Tibet. After lunch, we’ll tour the Taer
Monastery – one of the six great monasteries of the Yellow Hat Sect of Tibetan
Buddhism. This evening, enjoy a welcome dinner with local cultural performance. |

| Day 6 |

Xining-Express Train to Tibet
|
In the morning, we’ll visit the Provincial Museum where you’ll be given a
lecture about Tibetan culture. Then we tour the Residence of General Ma Bufang -
a warlord in the 1940’s, and the Great Mosque, with over 600 years of history.
This evening, we’ll board the Express train for Lhasa and start our adventure in
Tibet. |

Arrive in Lhasa
|
The Tibet Railway runs 1,956 kilometers from Xining to Lhasa and is the world's
longest railroad built atop a plateau. Construction started on June 29th, 2001
and opened to traffic on July 1st, 2006. The Golmud-Lhasa section extends 1,142
kilometers, with the highest elevation being some 5,072 meters above sea level
at Tanggula Range, making it the highest railway in the world.This morning, if
weather permits, you’ll enjoy a marvelous view of the rising sun. Throughout the
rest of the day, you will see: Kunlun Mountain – renowned as the ancestor of
many •mountains in the area. •Kekexili – “paradise for wild animals”. •Couna
Lake – the highest fresh water lake in the world. •Damshung – “Gate of Northern
Tibet”, etc. •Arrival at Lhasa in the evening, transfer and check in hotel."

Lhasa
Today’s highlight is the magnificent Potala Palace, once the seat of Tibetan
government and winter palace of the Dalai Lama. After lunch, visit Norbulingka –
the summer palace of the Dalai Lama. Dinner at Crazy Yak Restaurant with Tibetan
cultural performance.

| Day 9 |

| Lhasa
This morning we’ll tour the golden-roofed Jokhang Monastery -Tibet’s holiest
shrine. It commemorates the marriage of Tang princess Wencheng to King Songtsen
Gampo 1,300 years ago, and houses a pure gold statue of the Buddha Sakyamuni
brought to Tibet by the princess. Then we’ll walk around the pilgrim circuit -
Barkhor Street. In the afternoon, we visit Sera Monastery - one of the three
largest monasteries of Gelugpa. |

Lhasa to Shangrila
Take flight to Zhongdian, which is believed to be the "Shangri-La" described in
James Hilton's novel, The Lost Horizon. Afternoon tour to the 17th century
Ganden Songzanlin Monastery, the most important monastery in southwest China,
and explore the Old Town. |

Shangrila
Zhongdian lies in a landscape of rolling hills, snow-capped peaks, meadows
dotted with flowers, beautiful lakes & forest. we'll enjoy breathtaking scenery
at Pudacuo National Park and Bitahai Lake. |

Shangrila to Lijiang
Today, we'll drive 200km to Lijiang. En route, visit the first Band of Yangte
River & the breathtaking Tiger Leaping Gorge, some places dropping 3000m into
the water. Arrival Lijiang in late afternoon, explore the ancient Dayan Town - a
world heritage site. |

Lijiang
Today, we'll tour to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain with awesome glacier views.
Then drive to Baish Village to see the 16th century frescoes painted by Tibetan,
Naxi & Han artists. Afternoon tour to Joseph Rock's Residence, Dongba Museum of
Naxi Culture and the Black Dragon Pool, the best place to take photo of Lijiang. |

Lijiang to Kunming
|
Take morning flight to Kunming, the capital city of Yunnan Province. At an
elevation of 1890m, Kunming has a milder climate than most Chinese cities and
therefore known as the "Spring City". Afternoon tour to the legendary Stone
Forest. |

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Hong Kong. |
