Depart from U.S.A to China's Capital --Beijing. Cross the International Date
Line en route and lose one day.

Sun: Beijing
Arrive in Beijing, the dynamic capital of the People's Republic of China. Once
the imperial city of Mongol, Ming and Manchu emperors, Beijing today is still
extraordinarily rich in historical sites and cultural relics. After clearing
government formalities, meet your local guide and transfer to your hotel.

Mon: Beijing (B, L, D)
This morning, walk in Tian'an men Square, the largest public square in the
world and visit the imperial Palace (Gugong), the once Forbidden City, with its
over 9,000 elaborately carved and colorfully painted rooms, gardens, theaters,
temples and exhibition galleries that was the home of China's emperors for
almost 500 years, a testament of imperial China's splendor and lavishness. In
the afternoon, visit the scenic grounds of the Summer Palace (Yiheyuan), whose
apartments feature jewel-encrusted furniture and precious objects. Enjoy one of
China's three greatest gardens. Tonight, enjoy the world renowned Peking Duck
Feast.

Tue: Beijing (B, L, D)
Today, visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the greatest fortification
on human history built to prevent invasion by foreign barbarians-- the
magnificent Great Wall. It is the only human construction that astronauts could
recognize with the naked eye. Walk on this wall of "10,000 Miles" which took 10
years and more than a million laborers to build, and look out from the highest
point, at the fort at Bada Hill, from where enemy attacks were signaled to the
capital by beacon fires. In the afternoon, visit the imperial tombs of the Ming
Dynasty, where thirteen of the 16 Ming emperors are buried. Then, visit the
magnificent Temple of Heaven, where Ming and Qing emperors prayed to heaven for
a good harvest.

Wed: Beijing/Shanghai/Hangzhou (B, L, D)
This morning, fly to China's premier business center, Shanghai. Upon arrival,
visit the 16th-century Garden of Joy (Yu Garden) with its zigzagging bridges.
Also, experience the old world ambiance of the waterfront bund and the
Xintiandi, an urban tourist attraction imbued with the city's history and
culture. In the afternoon, we drive to Hangzhou, admiringly called "heaven on
Earth" by travelers.

Thu: Hangzhou/Wuxi (B, L, D)
This morning, we visit first the delicately beautiful West Lake, well known for
its ten terrific scenic points. Then, we will drive to Wuxi, where the
cultivation of mulberry trees and silk worms has existed for almost 1,500
years.

Fri: Wuxi/Suzhou/Shanghai (B, L, D)
This morning, we will visit Lake Tai Hu, the third largest lake in China and
subject of many poems. Then, transfer to "Venice of China"-Suzhou to visit the
Monastery of the Cold Mountain (Hanshan Si), Tiger Hill, and Garden of Master
of Nets. Afterwards, we will drive back to Shanghai.
